Nutella Pizza
9th July 2011

A few weeks ago I saw this image. It depicts some sort of Nutella dessert business.
Burgers, pizzas, crepes, ice cream and more, this place looks awesome! Thus I got the idea to create my own Nutella pizza. Sure it's not going to be healthy but it looked like a quick, fun dessert to try.
Today I created my own version, and I have to say, it tastes delicious. The pizza dough I made is the perfect consistancy, crispy outside and soft inside, slightly sweet but still has a savoury flavour, good thickness. The base spread with a layer of Nutella, then a generous amount of roughly chopped hazlenuts on top.
It is such a simple thing to make but so tasty and fun to eat!
Nutella Pizza
Ingredients:
- 200g Nutella
- 160g Hazelnuts
- 2 cups Plain Flour
- 1 teaspoon Dry Yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoon Caster Sugar
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Milk
Directions:
- Mix all dry ingredients together (excluding hazelnuts).
- Heat milk to lukewarm temperature.
- Combine milk, egg, oil and add to dry mixture.
- Mix together loosely then turn out dough onto floured surface, knead by hand till combined.
- Cover dough loosely in a bowl and let sit in a warm area for around 30 minutes.
- Knead dough again and cut into 2 seperate pieces.
- Roll out each piece of dough into a circle using a rolling pin, and lightly dust with flour.
- Using a fork, evenly poke holes into the dough.
- Place each base into a 180 degree oven and cook until lightly browned (about 10-15 minutes).
- Allow to cool completely.
- Spread Nutella onto base evenly.
- Roughly chop hazelnuts, then while holding the base over a large bowl, sprinkle the hazelnuts on top, allowing loose hazelnuts to fall into bowl.
- Continue until base is covered evenly, lightly pressing hazelnuts into the Nutella each time.
- Cut into pizza slices and enjoy.
