Sculpture by the Sea 2011

20th November 2011

Another year, another Sculpture by the Sea. For 2 weeks sculptures have adorned the shoreline between Bondi and Tamarama, ending today (Sunday). This years exhibition was pretty good, definitely more enjoyable than last year.

Following a week of strange Sydney weather, the day was beautiful and sunny. My brother went the following day when there was low lying fog surrounding parts of Sydney where one suburb was completely clear, while another completely hazy.

Bondi is such a beautiful area when the afternoon sun shines on the buildings out towards the coast looking north, it's spectacular.

In the end it was worthwhile going, if you haven't been before I recommend you go next year, i'll be back for sure. The sculptures I liked the most are as follows:

  • Turtle made of tyres
  • Giant tap & knobs
  • Lions made of straw
  • Rolling pin & fat figurines (favourite)
  • Little house under the rocks
  • The metal stag
  • Pot with wings
