The Boat House

12th June 2011

Right near the tip of Palm Beach headland, secluded from everything else, next to the beach on the water is a restaurant called The Boat House.

I had heard good things about this place from it's location, decor, service and food, it sounded amazing. Specialising in fish and chips, this is a relatively newish restaurant.

Taking no reservations or bookings of any kind, getting in can be a challenge, even though it was raining and cold the place was packed. Standing around for 30 minutes or more we were able to steal a table (four tall people can be intimidating).

Served in wooden boxes and boards the food is delicious, dessert even better, served on a huge platter with pomegranates and other fruit.

Surrounding you are beautiful lights, ornaments and tree branches, it has a really nice seaside feeling. On a clear sunny day you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Barrenjoey Lighthouse to the north and the sea planes gliding in and out of the bay.

Inside the kitchen where orders are taken are big bunches of green foliage, outside are big baskets of lemons, limes and other fresh ingredients.

If you head to Palm Beach in the future or want an amazing breakfast or lunch, this place is well worth the trip.
