Way back in September last year I wrote about Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore in Paddington. Opening just recently on Crown St in Surry Hills is their second location.

Just like their existing shop, this one has hundreds of books, lots of seating, serving delicious food, and given that it's on Crown St it's also licensed for the evenings.

You can't get a much better location than this building on Crown St, its directly opposite the new Surry Hills Library and Clock Hotel, also across from the small park where markets are regularly held on weekends.

The building itself is fantastic, occupying two levels, it has doors on both that can open fully for the warmer months. There is a vast amount of different seating on the upper level, with a cosy nook looking over Crown St.

Food is as good as ever at this location, i've had both breakfast and lunch and it's great. The spicy tomato and lentil soup is so very delicious as well as the pumpkin soup of the day (both pictured). Smoothies and coffees are also awesome.

Service is also friendly and attentive, they have done a really great job. I'm looking forward to coming here more, it has nice relaxing atmosphere, especially when you are surrounded by books, highly recommended.
